This one-day workshop will develop your ability to communicate effectively through exploring:

  • How to make the most of your own unique communication style
  • New ways to overcome blocks/barriers to effective communications
  • Better quality of interaction with others and more positive communication
  • More effective working relationships with colleagues/customers/stakeholders
  • Practical tools which can be used in a day-to-day environment
  • Opportunities to build connections/relationships with other participants

Objectives and Outline

This workshop includes opportunities to explore your own profile:

  • Your Style – learn more about your own communication style/approach, including completing and reviewing a “Communication Styles” profile (this can be used as a reference tool)
  • Different Styles - reviewing and discussing different types of communication style.  Sharing ideas on the strengths and pitfalls of various communication styles, including identifying barriers to effective communication and how to overcome these
  • Making it Work for You - discussing how to identify the communication styles of others around you (particularly customers/stakeholders/prospective clients) and how to interact effectively with those who have different styles
  • Developing Your Style – developing ideas and strategies to build effective working relationships with a range of colleagues/customers/stakeholders.  Share practical tips that can be applied in the workplace

 

Style of Workshop

The workshop will provide you with opportunities to explore a wide range of issues connected to how we communicate. It will have a positive and interactive focus, ensuring you get the chance to explore your own style and learn about others.  You will have the opportunity to work in small groups to look at the various topics and to share and discuss ideas and challenges.   

The Facilitator

Jan, our facilitator, is very experienced in this topic, delivering numerous workshops in the private, public and community sectors. She is highly skilled in enabling individuals to make the most of their participation. The workshop environment will be welcoming, engaging and comfortable. You will be encouraged to share ideas and challenges in a supportive and stimulating setting.

Participant Mix

  • Maximum delegates per workshop will be 14
  • Any level and all types of organisations/businesses.
